This Privacy statement is in line with new data protection requirements under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which comes into effect from 25th May 2018. Galway Community Circus should consider if there is any additional or different information re. how they will use personal data.

Galway Community Circus will use personal data only where consent to do so is affirmative, freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous. The below privacy statement provides information on why we gather and how we will use your personal data.

Privacy Statement

Any personal data requested is collected solely for the purpose of supporting your participation in Galway Community Circus.

Data such as your name, contact details, age and gender will be used to communicate about matters relating to membership of the circus or ensure inclusion in age-appropriate activities in the circus.

Sensitive personal data such as details of medical conditions or other personal needs will be used to ensure data subjects safety and welfare whilst participating in the circus.

Your personal data will only be shared with those who need to know it, and only disclosed to a third party in the case of an emergency such as if you become ill or have an accident that requires medical attention. Galway Community Circus also uses 3rd third parties mail chimp and survey monkey throughout the year to communicate and evaluate our membership, therefore these third parties have limited access to the information used for these services.

Images including video will be collected for the purpose of promoting and documenting the activities of the circus and /or archival purposes. Images will be managed safely in-line with our Use of Images Policy.

Galway Community Circus will retain personal data on file for the duration of that young person’s membership in the circus. On completion of said young person’s participation with the Circus their personal data will be destroyed.

Personal data in the form of photographic images and video will be retained permanently or until such time they become obsolete for the purpose of promoting and documenting the activities
of Galway Community Circus.
