Galway Community Circus launches Toddler and Youth Circus classes on Galway's Eastside

Galway Community Circus is excited to announce the launch of limited Toddler and Youth Circus classes on the Eastside of Galway, at Mervue Community Centre. Thanks to the generous support of Galway City Arts Office, this new pilot programme will offer children and young people aged 1-12 a unique opportunity to explore the world of circus arts.

The pilot 5-week programme will run on Fridays, beginning on 27th September, and aims to bring the magic of circus closer to local communities in Galway’s Eastside. The classes are designed to foster creativity, build confidence, and develop skills in a fun, inclusive, and engaging environment. Participants will get hands-on experience learning the basics of circus, including juggling, acrobatics, and more.

“We’re delighted to bring our Toddler and Youth Circus classes to Mervue Community Centre and offer children and young people in the Eastside a chance to engage in these exciting activities right on their doorstep,” said Lynn Carroll, Executive Director at Galway Community Circus. “Circus is a fantastic way for young people to develop confidence, teamwork, and self-expression, and we can’t wait to see the positive impact this programme will have in the community.”

The initiative reflects Galway Community Circus’s ongoing mission to make circus accessible to every child in Ireland, regardless of background or ability. With the support of Galway City Arts Office, Galway Community Circus hopes to make a meaningful difference in local children’s lives by introducing them to the joys of circus in a safe, welcoming, and creative space.
