Spotlight! creates a space for experimentation and allows artists to gather valuable feedback (or feed-forward, as we like to think of it) to help shape the future of their productions. Artists present short pieces of work and invite the audience to engage in constructive conversation.

Feedback session: Once the show is over, there is a short break after which we invite audience members back into the space. Each artist hosts a table the audience can visit for a little chat around some specific questions the performer would have prepared around their act.

Feedback from the audience can also sound like:

  • How it made me feel...
  • What worked for me was...
  • What I would like to see more of...

Spotlight! is organised by the Galway Community Circus Team together with our incredible European Solidarity Corps volunteers, who are the driving force behind the event.

Perform at Spotlight!

Have you an act you would like to try out in front of a live audience?

Adult Artists 18+ years from all disciplines are invited to participate. Galway Community Circus members 12 to 17 years old will be selected by their trainers to perform.

For Spotlight! your work does not need to be polished. It could be a brand-new piece, or an extract from an existing show you want to rework. You may be moving from studies to professional performance, or you could be an established circus artist trying something completely new.

Your act does not have to be circus related; it can be theatre, dance, or comedy.

If you are interested in performing your act at the next Spotlight! on May 23rd 2026, please fill this form [Spotlight! - Expression of interest] and we will contact you.
