CALLOUT FOR PARTICIPANTS: Circus Transformation Ireland
Training Ireland's future leaders in Social Circus.
Dublin Circus Project, Galway Community Circus, Cloughjordan Circus Club and Circus Factory Cork are recruiting participants for a 20-day professional training-for-trainers programme for Social Circus teachers. The programme is open to Ireland-based circus and/or youthwork practitioners, and will be delivered between January and June 2022.
What is Circus Transformation (CTF)?
CTF is a European professional training programme for Social Circus teachers developed by the CARAVAN International Network for Youth and Social Circus. So far, this training has been delivered to 120 social circus teachers across 18 different countries. Click here for more details.
CTF Ireland
We will be delivering the full CTF programme in Ireland for the first time to 20 Irish-based practitioners.
The programme includes 4 x 5-day modules taught by expert facilitators from Sorin Sirkus (Finland), AltroCirco (Italy) and Galway Community Circus (Ireland). Modules include Social Context; Act of Teaching; Management/Steering of Teaching; Circus Techniques and Creativity. Each module will be delivered at a different partner Circus School.

Participants must complete all 4 modules to receive a CTF Certificate of Completion. Priority will be given to applicants who are available to attend all 4 modules/dates.
Cost
Thanks to funding from the Arts Council’s Capacity Building Support Scheme, the training programme will be provided free of charge (course value is €2000 per participant).
Participants will also be given a stipend of up to €450 for attending the full programme to support their travel, accommodation and subsistence costs. (Participants will be required to organise their own accommodation and food).
Who is it for?
- Circus tutors currently working in a youth and social circus setting
- Circus artists/practitioners who wish to work in a youth and social circus setting
- Youth/social workers with no/limited circus experience who wish to work in a youth and social circus setting
