2025 Community Partnership Programmes: Stronger Together Through Circus

At Galway Community Circus, we know that circus has the power to connect, empower and inspire. In 2025, our Community Partnership Programme delivered 23 projects across schools, youth groups and community organisations, opening doors for participants of all ages to explore creativity, build confidence and strengthen social bonds.

From playful workshops and skill-building sessions to public performances and collaborative projects, these programmes foster personal growth, nurture teamwork and create spaces where every participant can feel seen, valued and capable. These achievements are made possible thanks to the dedication of our partners, funders and participants who bring energy, creativity and joy to every session.

Key Programmes in 2025

Summer Circus in Athlone

This year we partnered again with New Horizon Refugee and Asylum Seeker Support to deliver a fun and empowering circus programme for young people. Participants explored new skills, made friends and experienced the joy of circus, culminating in a colourful and lively public performance that celebrated their achievements.

School Completion Programme, Tuam

We were delighted to collaborate with the School Completion Programme, funded through the Creative Places Tuam Cultural Growth Fund. Each week, circus workshops were delivered to local primary and secondary schools by our circus trainers, providing children and young people with opportunities to develop essential life skills, boost confidence and explore creative expression. These workshops aimed to broaden horizons, inspire personal growth and support both educational and social development.

Growing Our Capacity & Reach

New Programme Manager

We welcomed Hazar Azzeh, our first dedicated Community Partnership Programme Manager, who leads the delivery of circus programmes in schools, organisations and communities. Her mission is to make circus accessible to as many people as possible and to use its power to inspire creativity and social change.

New Vehicles for Inclusion

Thanks to support from Pobal and the Dormant Accounts Fund Growing Social Enterprise Scheme, we purchased a van and a minibus. These vehicles enable us to transport circus equipment and participants, making programmes more accessible to groups who face barriers to participation. This investment strengthens inclusion, deepens impact and allows us to bring circus to more communities than ever before.

Looking Ahead

With new staff, new vehicles and continued partnerships, our Community Partnership Programme is poised to reach even more young people, schools and communities in 2026. By expanding access and fostering confidence, creativity and connection, we continue to make circus a powerful tool for social change across Galway and beyond.
