Galway Community Circus is Ireland’s flagship organisation for youth and social circus, based in the heart of Galway City. We are a centre of excellence for circus arts education and a leader in the development of youth circus in Ireland.
Our mission is to inspire and empower individuals and communities through circus. We do this by providing access to high-quality, subsidised circus arts education for over 600 young people and adults each week. We also offer professional training, community engagement programmes, and inclusive creative projects in collaboration with individuals with specific social or developmental needs.
We work nationally and internationally to champion circus as a transformative artform — supporting artists through mentoring and training, and advancing the sector through research, partnership and policy engagement.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Finance Administrator to join our team on a part-time basis (3 days per week).
The Finance Administrator will manage the day-to-day financial administration of the organisation and support financial reporting.
This role requires someone who is comfortable working in a small, passionate team environment and who can maintain accurate financial systems.
You will be based in our office in Galway - remote working is not possible for this role.
Financial Administration
- Maintain the organisation’s day to day financial administrative needs using QuickBooks
- Process invoices, payments, and receipts in line with the organisations financial policies and procedures
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
- Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems
- Prepare monthly financial reports for management
- Prepare financial documentation for the Board when required
- Support preparation of annual accounts and liaise with external accountants
- Maintain accurate financial records for individual projects.
- Support financial reporting requirements for funders
- Support payroll processing
- Maintain financial documentation required for audits
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial policies and procedures
Essential
- Experience in financial administration
- Proficiency with QuickBooks (or similar accounting software)
- Strong organisational and financial record-keeping skills
- Experience preparing financial reports
- Excellent attention to detail
Desirable
- Experience working with arts organisations, charities, or non-profits
- Experience managing project-based funding
- Knowledge of financial reporting for grant-funded projects
- Payroll experience
