Volunteer Opportunity: Mentor for European Solidarity Corps Volunteers 2023-2024
We are seeking a volunteer mentor to support our four European Solidarity Corps (ESC) volunteers 2023-2024.
About the Volunteer Mentor Role
We are seeking a volunteer mentor to support our four European Solidarity Corps (ESC) volunteers who will join us in Ireland from different countries around Europe.
The role of volunteer mentor will start in September 2023 and run until July 2024. The mentor should be based in or around Galway and be able to meet with our European Solidarity Corps volunteers at least 8 times during this time period. Mentors do not need to have any involvement or knowledge in circus. Mentors should be aged 25+.
Mentoring consists of regular meetings between the mentor and the ESC volunteer, within as well as outside Galway Community Circus. The meetings should focus on the personal wellbeing of the ESC volunteers and should also guide and provide support to the volunteers in identifying the learning acquired during their experience.
Mentoring is targeted towards the individual participant and thus the content and frequency of the meetings will vary according to the individual needs. Possible topics of mentoring meetings include personal wellbeing, wellbeing in the team, satisfaction with the tasks, practicalities, etc.
