Learn to wirewalk with us. We're looking for 6 Irish youth aged 13-17 to join our European Youth Ensemble and perform in the LifeLine spectacle!
What is LifeLine?
LifeLine is a public wirewalking event that will feature a cast of 150 people from all walks of life performing Europe’s largest highwire spectacle over the River Corrib and Claddagh Basin in the heart of Galway City. The event will take place on 16 of July and will include performances by community participants, professional artists and our European Youth Ensemble.
What is the European Youth Ensemble?
Our European Youth Ensemble will be made up of 42 youth from 7 countries. Participants will train in wirewalking in their own circus schools before taking part in a 9-day Erasmus+ funded youth exchange in Galway where they will create a performance together for the LifeLine spectacle. The theme of the exchange is funambulism and youth mental health & wellbeing, and participants will explore these topics together in a fun, creative way while developing their performance.
If you join the European Youth Ensemble you will...
- Learn to wirewalk and prepare to cross the Claddagh Basin on the wire.

- Create two performances, one with the Irish ensemble and one with the international ensemble.
- Perform in the LifeLine spectacle on 16th July. Costumes will be provided.
This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and the wirewalking workshops and participation in the spectacle is free of charge for all performers. All food will also be provided during the youth exchange.
