Sunday Circus is for youth aged 8-17 and will take place on Sundays between 30th of January to the 27th of March (excluding 27th of February.) Classes for ages 8-11 will take place on Sundays from 12:30-2pm and classes for ages 13-17 will take places from 2:45-4:15pm. See the full timetable below. Classes will take place in the Circus Hall at St. Joseph's Community Centre, Ashe Road, in Shantalla, Galway.
Our Circus facilitators will support participants to build confidence, self-awareness, teamwork and more. The program is carefully designed to meet the needs of participants and seeks to improve the social and emotional skills that young people need to thrive as adults. The aim of Sunday Circus is to support young people from migrant backgrounds to meet other young people living in Galway and make new friends, in the frame of a fun and inclusive activity like that of the circus. In particular, the project supports participants to access social, educational and recreational activities and integrations with local community.
Both Galway Community Circus members and non-members are welcome to join.
Sunday Circus is funded by the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth and is supported by the Communities Integration Fund.
