Circus+ is a two-year academic research project on youth and social circus pedagogy between six youth circus schools and three Universities from six different European countries.
The aim of this project is the creation of a formal long-term training programme for youth and social circus teachers. Partners in the project are École de Cirque de Bruxelles and University Léonard de Vinci from Belgium, SorinSirkus and University of Tampere from Finland, CirkusCirkör from Sweden, Le Plus Petit Cirque du Monde from France, Belfast Community Circus from Northern Ireland and Galway Community Circus and University of Limerick from the Republic of Ireland.
This project is the first of its kind in Ireland. In order for us to carry out this research Galway Community Circus has formed a partnership with the University of Limerick and their MA Festive Arts course in the World Academy of Music and Dance.
The project is funded by the Erasmus+ programme.
